See You Later FEMA. Thanks for the Help
Not coming to the next natural disaster near you is FEMA. Well, you can’t say I didn’t tell you so. President Donald Trump has announced that he will be phasing out FEMA (Federal Emergency Management Agency) after this year’s hurricane season. While the Trump administration has more than hinted at dismantling FEMA, now there’s a definite timeline. This comes after Jeffrey Greenberg, head of the National Response Coordination Center, submitted his letter of resignation.
While in the Oval Office, President Trump told reporters, “We want to wean off of FEMA, and we want to bring it down to the state level.”
“A governor should be able to handle it, and frankly, if they can’t handle it, the aftermath, then maybe they shouldn’t be governor.”
Of course, it’s no surprise that President Trump wants to cut off funding to the states. But the contradictions are endless. The California ICE raids are a local issue, and yet, we see federal involvement not only with the National Guard, but now Marines that have been deployed. There are now more troops in Los Angeles than in Iraq and Syria combined, but who’s counting?
At the same time, President Trump’s “Big Beautiful Lie Bill” wants to eliminate the states’ rights to regulate AI (Artificial Intelligence). So states’ rights when it’s convenient. The fact that the federal government wants to limit a state’s power to regulate AI should be concerning! So here’s a question: why?
Since President Trump’s first term, I knew he wanted to cut down the federal government’s size. I also figured he wanted to do so to save money and reduce waste. Then comes Elon Musk and DOGE to do just that, yet they failed miserably.

Instead, government offices and agencies have been dismantled. Spending has increased, and people go to work every day wondering if they are next to lose their job or take a lie detector test. If not, due to lawsuits, temporary injunctions are issued where now employees are getting paid sitting at home, waiting for this to play out through the courts.
Chaos creates political instability, which leads to financial instability.
