Bob Dylan Was Right
Few things stand the test of time, and Bob Dylan is without question excluded from that list. No one has ever said it better than Dylan when he penned the lyrics to “The Times Are a Changin.”
Now, Dylan is a little bit before my time. I grew up in Miami in the Eighties with “Miami booty-shake” music and freestyle. Where the only cowboys I saw were cocaine cowboys. “The Times Are a Changin” was released in 1964 when the country faced internal turmoil. An anthem for that generation…
Sorry, but I took a break from writing. I wanted to listen to the lyrics again for inspiration. I’m not kidding. Dylan, plus endless songs of his, are on my favorites list with Amazon Music.
Okay, I’m back. Dylan captured the frustration, the anger, and the concerns of a generation with those powerful lyrics that ring as true now as it does then. With that being said, the times are changing.
Redbox Files for Bankruptcy
Redbox is owned by Chicken Soup for the Soul Media. Those inspirational books remind us of our mother’s and grandmother’s chicken soup, which always made us feel better.
My mother passed away last year, but what I would give for her chicken soup right now. Even as the temperature outside hits triple digits, her chicken soup always hit the right spot. But I guess that proves Dylan right: the times are changing.
My mom was okay one minute, then not the next. The only constant we have in life is change; somehow, we must learn to adapt. Redbox didn’t. Personally, I’ve had my DVDs and DVD player in a box in a garage for some time now. If I stopped using DVDs, how many other people did as well?
The Denouement for Redbox
The denouement is known as the final scene in a movie. Sadly, this is Redbox’s final scene as it is converting from Chapter 11 to Chapter 7 bankruptcy, which will liquidate all its assets. There was a time when it was impossible to visit a grocery or drugstore and not see one of Redbox’s 34,000 kiosks. That day, like many others, has come and gone. Remember Blockbuster?
The times are changing.
