Latest Updates on the Big Beautiful Bill and Its Effects
Big Beautiful Bill updates are coming fast. The Big Beautiful Bill—also called the “Big Ugly Bill” by Democrats, although I’ve been calling it the Big Beautiful Lie or Scam—is barreling toward passage, and with it, a seismic shift in tax policy, social spending, and economic priorities.
For updates on how this bill feeds into tariff tensions (Tariff Watch) or tips the scales for struggling businesses (Bankruptcy News), you’re in the right place. Stay informed. Be prepared.
Big Beautiful Bill Updates
With a self-imposed deadline of July 4th, the House is likely to vote on the Big Beautiful today. Voting began at 9:30 p.m. and continued till 3:20 a.m.
To delay voting, House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries took advantage of what is known as the “magic minute,” which allows the leader unlimited speaking time. It’s been more than five hours, and guess what, Jeffries is still talking.
To what level the Big Beautiful Bill will impact the U.S. economy is not known, but what is known is that it will increase the national debt by trillions. The Yale Budget Lab states that over a 10-year period, the Bill will $3 trillion, while the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) estimates it would add $3.4 trillion. The Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget states the increase will total $4 trillion plus.
How does President Trump feel about this? As expected, President Trump took to Truth Social. He posted: “What are the Republicans waiting for??? What are you trying to prove??? MAGA IS NOT HAPPY, AND IT’S COSTING YOU VOTES!!!”
