Understanding Bankruptcy: Launching the Podcast Journey
Welcome to Bankruptcy.blog: Your Debt-Free Compass
Welcome, everyone! This is my first-ever podcast recording, and I’m excited to finally introduce my new blog and audio companion: Bankruptcy.blog.
You might be thinking, “Another blog about debt?” But this is different. After years as a bankruptcy attorney, college, and law professor (yes, bankruptcy is the subject I love teaching most!), I’ve seen that the conversation around debt is often negative, confusing, or purely academic.
This platform is here to change that. I want to show you that debt, even bankruptcy, is not the end of your financial world.

I’ve Been There, Too
As a lawyer, I have a deep understanding of the law. But as an individual, I have a unique and personal perspective on the struggles you face:
- Student Loans? Been there.
- Foreclosure struggles? Been there, done that.
- Car repossession issues? Been there, done that.
- Losing business revenue? Been there, done that.
- Rock-bottom credit score? Mine’s hit it, too.
That’s the core message: You will get through this. I survived these challenges, and I’ve helped countless clients do the same. Look at the people I’ve represented over the years; they are okay. And I promise you, you will be okay, too.
More Than Just Bankruptcy
While my specialty is bankruptcy law, Bankruptcy.blog is for anyone dealing with debt-related issues. You’ll find resources across a wide range of categories, from managing student loan burdens to rebuilding your credit score to personal finance issues, so that you are always informed and always prepared to make the right decisions.
Learning Resources for Students and Professionals
I’m a big believer that true mastery requires stepping outside the four corners of a textbook. That’s why the blog will offer:
Video Summaries: YouTube videos (using PowerPoint) that summarize chapters of my textbook, Consumer Bankruptcy Law. Paralegal and legal studies students will find these resources invaluable for bridging the gap between theory and real-world application.
Practice Tools: A separate resource area reviewing the bankruptcy petition, local bankruptcy court information (judges, trustees), and state-specific bankruptcy exemptions is for helping debtors who need additional information on filing for bankruptcy.
Join the Financial Adventure
Thank you for joining me as you begin your debt-free journey. I look forward to navigating this financial adventure with you and proving that your best financial life is still ahead.
