The U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Oregon administers bankruptcy filings across the Pacific Northwest region through its Eugene and Portland divisions. This page provides essential administrative contact information for the clerk’s office, judges, and staff.

Courthouse Locations
Bankruptcy filings in the District of Oregon are handled by either the Portland or Eugene divisions.
Portland Division Office: The Portland Courthouse is located at 1050 SW 6th Ave, Suite 700, Portland, Oregon 97204. If you reside in any of the counties listed below, your bankruptcy petition will be handled in the Portland Office.
Baker, Clackamas, Clatsop, Columbia, Crook, Deschutes, Gilliam, Grant, Harney, Hood River, Jefferson, Malheur, Morrow, Multnomah, Sherman, Tillamook, Umatilla, Union, Wallowa, Wasco, Washington, Wheeler, and Yamhill.
The Eugene Division Office: The Eugene Courthouse is located at 405 E 8th Ave, Suite 2600, Eugene, Oregon 97401. The following counties are part of the Eugene Division: Benton, Coos, Curry, Douglas, Jackson, Josephine, Klamath, Lake, Lane, Lincoln, Linn, Marion, and Polk.
Federal buildings have strict security measures. Make sure to have a valid government-issued photo identification. If you are attending a hearing, make sure to have your hearing notice readily available.

Case Administrator Assignments
For questions regarding specific bankruptcy cases such as status inquiries for pending orders, errors, or how to file documents, contact the assigned Case Administrator. Case Administrators are also responsible for adversary proceedings connected to their assigned cases.
Assignments are determined by the last two digits of the 5-digit case number segment. For example, for case number 17-1538, contact the administrator handling cases 20-39.

Filing Fees for Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 Cases (2026)
Filing fees are uniform through the bankruptcy courts. Payments can be made through Pay.gov when filing via CM/ECF. For self-represented debtors, payments are accepted via cashier’s check or money order remitted directly to the clerk’s office (personal checks are prohibited).

Fee Payment Adjustments and Waivers
Chapter 7 petitioners may petition the court for permission to stagger filing fees across four installments with the final payment due 120 days from the date the petition was filed. However, the bankruptcy judge may extend payments up to six months upon a showing of good cause.
Also, under 28 U.S.C. 1930(f), the court can completely waive the Chapter 7 filing fee if household earnings are 150% of the federal poverty guidelines and you can prove you are unable to afford the monthly payment installments.

Accessing the Status of your Bankruptcy Case
Debtors can review case filings through PACER, the federal court’s online records system. PACER bills users quarterly, but only if more than $30 in charges were incurred during the previous quarter. Most documents such as dockets, motions, orders, judgments, or briefs cost $0.10 per page, and no single document will cost more than $3. Invoices are sent by mail or email.
